Volunteers Needed!

We need YOUR help to water the gardens. Whether you’re able to make watering the gardens a regular thing, or can only spare 20 minutes one evening, we need YOU!

Let us know if you can help!

Last year (2021) the Alden Community Garden was founded, and launched.

After a year of ups and downs, we learned how to navigate most aspects of successfully running a community garden.

It didn’t come without trials, and some failures as well. Watering quickly became one of the biggest hurdles we needed to jump.

With that in mind, this year, we will be installing a “water tower”. This 55 gallon drum will be an enclosed “water tower”, from which, volunteers will be able to fill watering cans and water as they see fit. With regularly refilling this water tower, we are optimistic that this will be the system that proves a greater success over last year’s “please bring gallon jugs of water from home” model.
